March 16, 2020  -- Everything Changed -- Ontario's First Lockdown

It was supposed to last about 6 weeks; in a couple of weeks it will be a year.
We refer to this time frame as THE BIG PAUSE.  Most businesses and people have had any number of stops and starts, ups and downs over the past year.

Whoever thought:

  • stores would run out of flour, toilet paper, paper towels......

  • "home schooling" would take on a whole new meaning.

  • regular home food delivery of anything, cooked or uncooked.

  • everybody had a "staycation", you couldn't even buy enough wood to build a deck.

  • employers didn't know what their current and long term work force needs would be.

  • working at home had some distinct advantages and disadvantages for both employers and employees.

  • church service in your car. It would be good again to be able to attend a funeral.

  • telehealth calls are up 5600%!  Not a typo.

  • adults would now have more "screen time" than their kids...and "they" need a screen break.

 

Everybody wants to know "when will things be back to normal?"  They won't.
